What is a first-time buyer? We consider you a first time buyer if you haven't owned a home
for at least three years.
What does the Homebuyer Workshop cost? No cost. The Homebuyer Workshops are sponsored by Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA).
How do I sign up? Seating is limited. Pre-registration is necessary. Call NHSNB at
860-224-2433 to register.
Do I qualify for your loan program? One of our Housing Counselors can answer that question for you, but we ask that you take homebuyer education class first so you will understand the basics of how loans work.
What if my credit is not great? One of the Housing Counselors will review your credit report with you and let you know steps you need to take to clean up your credit rating.
What if you take the classes and still have questions? Our staff is also available to answer your questions after you purchase your home. Call us, we have other workshops tht may help you once you are a homeowner.
What are Financial Fitness Classes? Teaches you about managing your personal finances, budgeting, the importance of establishing banking relationships, and long term savings strategies.

What can NHSNB do to help me with Foreclosure Proceedings? Depending on how far foreclosure proceedings have gone, NHSNB can help you identify options to avoid losing your home. You should be aware that if the problem has gone too long, NHSNB may not be able to help you.
How much will NHSNB charge to help with my foreclosure problem? There is no charge for NHSNB’s assistance.
What happens if foreclosure proceedings begin on my home? Foreclosure proceedings are very serious. If you do not take care of the problem you will probably lose your house and your credit rating will be seriously harmed.
