BUILDING & ENGAGEMENT
NHSNB’s Community Building & Engagement (CB&E) service supports the development of strong resident leaders to sustain neighborhood groups with the aim of building resilient, vibrant local communities.
WHAT WE DO
Upon request, we work with neighborhood groups to develop and implement strategies to improve their neighborhoods, build cultures of health, and strengthen community, such as the Historic Homes Tax Credit Workshop held in the Arch Street Area in September 2018, visioning workshops within the schools, and the Trauma-Informed Community Development initiative
SUPPORT RESIDENT LEADERS
We provide resident leadership development opportunities, such as NeighborWorks’ Annual Community Leadership Institute, where resident leaders gain new knowledge and skills through workshops, network with their peers from across the nation, and participate in action planning.
We sponsor or support community-building activities with neighborhood groups, such as Community Clean-Up Days, Build a Better Block celebrations, and the Spark the Park Cleanup with Eblen’s and the City of New Britain in April 2019
