Voices of Community - Participating at NBMAA’S 2026 Juneteenth Celebration

Last month, we had the pleasure of participating in the 25th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at the New Britain Museum of American Art! 

Throughout the event, we invited community members to help us complete a collaborative poem by answering the prompt: "Community is..." The responses were heartfelt, thought-provoking, and inspiring, reflecting the many ways people experience connection, belonging, and hope. 

We are grateful to have been part of such a meaningful celebration. Events like these remind us that stronger communities are built through inclusion, understanding, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered.
